Dec 2nd: Aerospace City

RAIN will NOT stop a determined footpath walker!

Today’s Aerospace City Walk took off on time and cruised through rainy weather! 25 bravehearts walked 15,000 steps (10+km for 3+hrs) through the constant rain, on slippery footpaths, and being splashed by passing cars.
IT WAS SUCH FUN!

We traced the history of India’s aerospace history from the early days of World War 2, through the development of the Marut, to what’s going on right now behind the high walls of the various defence and aerospace campuses on Suranjan Das Rd (named after the legendary test pilot), and at ISRO, HAL, NAL, BEML and various other key establishments that make up India’s military-industrial complex. Lots of good stories and conversations on a wet and wonderful morning.

The walkers were admirably supported by Blr Traffic Police, BBMP Marshals and volunteers – all in the pouring rain.

And yes, the footpaths were walked on, and rated!

We have now covered 27,0000 steps on footpaths (20kms) in 2 days, 80km more to go!
